Abstract
The research analyzes the relationship between the risks of energy weakness and economic development in Iraq for the period 2004-2022, and through quantitative and descriptive analysis, we have concluded that increasing energy production, responsible use, diversification of energy sources, and the effective contribution of renewable energy serve to meet the growing local demand and reduce pressure on fossil energy sources. This supports the economic sectors and economic development from two aspects: increasing the mix of energy sources in a way that serves to reduce the energy import bill, and relieve pressure on oil revenues that crowd out export revenues.
